I. Introduction
Omega Protocol is a 1-8 Player arcade sci-fi shooter designed to work with all Location based VR models. The variable length campaign is designed to fit industry standard VR session lengths to ensure customers are guaranteed a complete experience regardless of their session time.
Other modes include “Endless wave” with local leader-board to promote return customers, “PVP“ for E sports enthusiasts and local tournaments, and a “PCVR Free-roam” version for venues using an arena style configuration.
II. Mechanics and Game-play
For all non-Freeroam versions of the game a Hybrid blink-motion teleportation system is used for player movement. This proprietary system was designed to use industry standard controls while allowing character avatars to move through the environment with fluid animations. This improves immersion and allows for more competitive PVP interaction than older blink teleportation systems without the drawbacks of smooth motion control systems, such as motion sickness.
Simplified weapon controls such as automatic reload, unlimited ammunition, and grab-to-equip ensure that players of any skill level can participate easily without coaching, also a simple weapon inventory system has been included for more advanced players.
The Campaign for Omega Protocol follows a team of advanced soldiers on a mission to stop an invading alien mother ship by infiltrating its core systems with an advanced AI. This AI must be downloaded into each of the ship's core system Nodes.
Players fight their way through the invading alien ship filled with festering organic matter, swarms of defense drones, and grotesque alien soldiers armed with advanced firearms and energy weapons on their way to each “Node” checkpoint.
Once players activate the AI on each “Node” they must defend it from attacking aliens until the download is complete or must restart the process.
If successfully defended the AI corrupts that area of the ship eliminating all nearby enemies and opens the path to the next area. The pathways to the next area are variable depending on the chosen session length at the beginning of the game. Arcade operators will be able to synchronize this with their customers' session length before launching the game.
The PVP mode maps are based on the aesthetic of the campaign, but are designed specifically for a more competitive E sports style environment. Players will have the choice between Human or Alien avatars and weapons. Play modes within PVP will be Free-for all, Team death-match, and capture-the-flag.
The Endless wave mode will include several map choices where players will be contained to an area of the ship where progressively harder enemy waves will attack them until all players are defeated and final scores are assigned or the session ends. Downed players will re-spawn at the end of each wave, and more powerful weapons will be unlocked every few waves.
The Free-roam version of the game will use modified versions of the ‘endless wave’ maps to facilitate its game-play with a set number of waves for each level and no player death. Scores for free-roam will be based on individual performance.
III. Business model
Omega Protocol will be marketed to the LBVR industry and use the Pay per minute revenue structure as well as offering monthly subscriptions that are competitive with currently available titles. We will also offer direct one time licenses for entities that do not wish to use a third party commercial license provider.
Location-Based Virtual Reality Market size was valued at 2373.21 Million USD in 2020 and is projected to reach 19,870.81 Million USD by 2028. The unique design of Omega Protocol ensures that it will be available to nearly all LBVR venues currently in operation, as well as those expected to open in the next 5 years.
AtlAtl development has a working relationship with two of the largest commercial licensing platforms for LBVR and will be able to deploy on those platforms immediately upon release.
